What is a Radiosonde?

A radiosonde is an atmospheric sensor that provides an accurate, high-resolution description of the Earth’s atmosphere from the ground to 100,000 ft. A radiosonde is carried into the air by a latex weather balloon filled with helium or hydrogen.
